Tomcheho Me'ushor Fund
by A. Cohen

With the encouragement of gedolei Yisroel--headed by HaRav Yosef Sholom Eliashiv, HaRav Yehuda Leib Shteinman, HaRav Michel Yehuda Lefkowitz, HaRav Moshe Shmuel Shapira, HaRav Nissim Karelitz, HaRav Chaim Kanievsky, HaRav Shmuel Auerbach, HaRav Boruch Rosenberg, HaRav Gershon Edelstein, HaRav Boruch Dov Povarsky and HaRav Meshulom Dovid Soloveitchik--the Tomcheho Me'ushor fund has been set up to assist ameilei Torah whose entire world consists of the daled amos of halocho.

Heading the fund are HaRav Dovid Cohen, HaRav Osher Deutsch, HaRav Yisroel Rosenberg, HaRav Yisroel Marmarosh and HaRav Tzvi Shevach Rosenblatt. The fund's goal is to assist ameilei Torah who are facing unsettling financial difficulties that disturb their Torah study by providing the money needed to allow them to continue their constant Torah learning with peace of mind.

The establishment of the fund was backed by all gedolei hador, who wrote letters saying in the merit of this important mitzvah, may contributors have holy children graced with wealth from Above in This World and a just reward in the World to Come.

The directors of the fund cited the Chofetz Chaim, who writes in his book, Ahavas Chesed, "Regarding the matter of ma'aser kesofim--aser ta'aser, aser bishvil shetisasher-- and in every matter it is not prohibited to test HaKodosh Boruch Hu, but in this it is permitted, if he gives to ameilei Torah, for in essence ma'aser kesofim was instituted for ameilei Torah, as the Medrash says."

Anyone who would like to take part in maintaining ameilei Torah can send contributions to POB 3233 Bnei Brak or by credit card by calling 1-800-356-677 or by direct deposit at Bank Pagi, Branch 188, Account No. 409-409533.
