MARAN HARAV SHACH ZTVK'L
Thirty Days Since His Passing
Special Section

New Sefer on the Torah of HaRav Shach zt"l
by Yated Ne'eman Staff

A new sefer with hundreds of heretofore unpublished facts and hanhogos of Maran HaRav Elazar Menachem Man Shach ztvk"l, published last week, has made a tremendous impact in Torah circles the world over.

The book was published by Maran's grandson HaRav Usher Bergman, as a sequel to his widely circulated Part One of Shimusha Shel Torah. The sefer contains hundreds of facts about gedolei Yisroel as told by HaRav Shach. It includes an approbation by Maran and the blessings of his son-in-law, yibodel lichayim arukim, HaRav Meir Tzvi Bergman.

During editing of the previous book considerable material was culled from Maran's accounts, as well as from those heard by his students and others close to him. The material includes amazing facts about gedolei hadoros and guidance for the ben Torah and the yirei Hashem.

Rav Usher Bergman notes that the book was scheduled to be published while Maran was still alive: It is not a collection of accounts about him, but is a collection of facts and hanhogos that Maran received from his mentors and then transmitted to his students. Nonetheless, its current publication will help perpetuate Maran's memory and serve le'illui nishmoso.
