Talking About Maran HaRav Shach ztvk"l
Virtually the entire chareidi world is now learning, for the
first time ever, what it is like to live in a world without
Maran HaRav Shach, zt"l. For over ninety years he was
part of the yeshiva world, and for most of them he was at or
near its summit.
Steadfast Faith Vs. Temptation
The following is based on the address of HaRav Shach,
zt"l, given at the opening session of the Ponovezh Yarchei
Kallah in 5752 (1992). In those days HaRav Shach often used
this opportunity to give a public speech to address various
current issues. However, he never strayed far from the basic
issues that were near and dear to him. This report includes
the remarks he made that year on basic issues that are always
relevant and important, including some allusions to the
political situation then. It was several months after the
election of the Rabin government, and HaRav Shach explained
why he was against joining that government.

Migdal Bovel and the Twin Towers
Many commentators have had difficulties understanding the sin
of the generation of Migdal Bovel, since the Torah did
not state it explicitly. We wish to offer an explanation,
based on the Kli Yokor, with some amendments.

All for the Good

were all equal for the good" (Rashi).
