The Manchester Torah Reading Library
letter

To the Editor:

Through the columns of your newspaper, we would like to bring to the notice of your readers the plight of the library in the Jewish Cultural Center of Manchester.

For the past 18 years, this esteemed library has served the wider Jewish communities of the North West of England. It provides not only a vast amount of Jewish reference materials, but it also has the largest lending capacity, and is the only source of Torah fiction and nonfiction available to the chareidi community. We lend out approximately 400 books and tapes per week.

However, due to its severe financial situation, the library is faced with closure.

It needs the support of the community, NOW.

We appeal to everyone, past, present and future members, and anyone concerned in the community, to help keep the library open.

Any donations will be welcomed.

Yours Faithfully,

The Librarians
