81 Students Enrolled in Torah Institutions by Acheinu Activists

Eighty-one new students have recently been enrolled in religious schools -- this, as a result of wide scope efforts of Acheinu's activists.

Acheinu activists -- Pe'ylim --are responsible for these 81 youngsters on a long-term basis. They assisted the parents by familiarizing them with the Torah institutions, resulting in the final enrollment of their children in the appropriate educational facilities.

These students unite with the other 703 students who during this past year have already joined the ranks of Torah schools through Acheinu. These youngsters in the past were distant from a Torah way of life. They have now adopted a new mode of existence.

The youths meet face to face with various obstacles on their new path, weakening their capability and desire to remain in Torah institutions. Acheinu has pioneered a program geared to assist them in overcoming these obstacles, easing the sharp change from their former lives to a life of Torah and kedusha.

Within the framework of the project, the students receive individual tutoring in limudei kodesh, assistance with the purchase of appropriate clothing, and join the chevrutot program a one-to-one learning program. Here, the basic goal of Acheinu's pe'ylim is to offer a helping hand. Each activist tries to be someone to turn to when a problem arises, while suggesting possible solutions. This method has been successful in encouraging the youngsters to overcome the initial difficulties they encounter and enables them to properly blend in with their new Torah surroundings.

Acheinu, through this support project, has succeeded in preventing tens of "drop outs" who did have numerous difficulties in adjusting. The intensive efforts that were put into these youths helped them to find appropriate solutions, thus returning them to the study halls of Torah institutions.
